there are many things. Like how to get people to know about the store and if
the store has good drinks or not.

I
don’t think that much people know about milktea but since we are in a college
town I would assume that more people are familiar with the drinks.

the limited people that know that milktea is a negative factor when opening a store?

I
think it all depends on the way someone makes it. It just depends if your recipe
is good or not.

there are many things to consider and you also have to take into account the possibility of not have any

From
what I think a lot of people know about it like my roommates love drinking it
so I think that a lot of people like and know about it but I just haven’t had
the chance to try it.

because it is homemade which people assumed would be better for them.

biggest thing would be the customers aspect of it. Because, it is hard to
attract customers at first.

I
don’t know because most of the people I know do not know what milktea is.

It
can be a positive thing if you think about it. They porbaly don’t know about
the other milktea store and will only know about your store in the beginning
which will be a plus for you.

With
being homemade, people will think that there’s no chemical, which is good.

finances, products, and marketing are all of the stuffs that you need to worry
about.

Many
people knows about it because my friend and I like to drink it and her friends
also like the drink.

store?
It
could be a negative. But you just need good marketing to turn it from negative to
positive.

Because
you said that it was “homemade”
2.)
Who:
People who are into the café culture
What: A sweet drink with different thinks
of bobas (black tapioca pearls) that contains different texture and flavors, to
addition variety to the drink.
Why: There is a lack of drinks that is a
combination of things you can eat and drink at the same time. In addition,
milktea can replace coffee for people who does not like bitter drinks.
3.)
Hypothesize: Consumers are attracted to new concepts of foods or drinks, thus
creating a variation on milktea will draw people who wants to try new drinks.
4.)
After interviewing five friends, I found some interesting aspects regarding my
opportunity. The prototypical customers will likely be college students or
people who are in their mid-twenties or mid-thirties. In addition, there are
many boundaries when thinking about opening a milktea store, such as the lack
of customers or the products are not to people standards or the drinks may not
fit their taste. I also found out that it is very important how you brand and
name your products because it allows customers to have a positive or negative
view on the products in this case the drinks.
There is a milk tea place here called, "Kung Fu Tea." I think it would be beneficial for you to talk to them. If you really want to pursue this, I think you should make it for your friends and start selling on campus from your dorm. Basically do it by a order basis. You stated that you interviewed your friends, maybe try random people that way you have a wider population to gauge the interest.
ReplyDeleteI thought you did a great job on this post and your interviews were extremely thorough. I like the idea because people are always willing to try new things and if they turn out good and well liked, people will keeping buying it from you. That being said, I think you would need to search more about the demand for a milktea business. From your interviews it seems like some people know what it is and like it and others have never heard of it and would not try it.

I liked how you considered your boundaries when opening up your idea, I did the same! It is highly important to do so in order to ensure all risks are taken into account.
ReplyDeleteHey Tan, I like your idea. I also like your comment on how branding is such a vital issue. It especially is in the food/drink industry. Part of starbucks's success is due to marketing. The questions you asked interviewees seemed to be very effective as well. Nice Job!
