23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage
The
different boba
This resource is valuable because it
is the things that make the café different and unique. Ultimately, the bobas
are the things that will set as apart from other café. In addition, the other
cafes will not know how to make and recreate the bobas. There are other
resources out there that can be substituted for the bobas but it is extremely hard
to copy the ones that we are going to make.
The
different milktea
This resource is another that is
very valuable because it is the product that we are trying to sell. It will be
different from the other cafes but the only concern is whether customers will
like the taste of the milktea. The resource itself is not rare but that one we
are serving is rare because it is made with a homemade recipe instead of a
powder. Thus, the recipe is very hard to get your hands on so it is difficult
to recreate the drink itself.
The
unique concept of the café
This resource is not that valuable because
other café can recreate the atmosphere by having the same layout. Thus, it is
very easy for other people to copy the concept of the café.
Trained
employees
It is essential that a café have
trained employees because it demonstrate the professionalism of the café. It is
not that hard to have trained employees. Thus, this resource is not that rare
and is substitutable.
Does
not take that much money to start up the café
Other business may require more
money, however, opening a café does not require much. The only thing that is
required is a good atmosphere and good foods and drink.
Knowledgeable
employees about the drinks
From experience, knowledgeable
employees are quite rare in a café because most of the employees are just
part-time worker thus they do not really care about their work. Thus, it is
quite hard and rare to find people who are dedicated to their work in a café.
Unique
drinks
The unique drinks are another
factors that will draw people from other cafes to your. Thus, this resource is
one of the most important aspects. There are of course other drinks that can be
use as refreshment but it is hard to get your hand on the drink itself.
Social
media based marketing
This one is not rare, valuable or
non-substitutable because many if not all cafés are using this type of
marketing.
Located
near UF campus
Location is an important factor when
opening a café. This resource is valuable as it will attract more customers but
it is not non-substitutable as there are already other cafes near the campus.
Trust
between the owner and employees.
This is a very valuable resource as
the trust will create a better relationship between the owner and employees
causing them to care more for the cafes.
The
top resource is the boba. The boba is the thing that differentiate the café
from the other. In addition, the bobas are hard to recreate as it requires multiple
trial before perfecting the bobas. The recipe for them are non-existing adding
a level of difficulties when trying to recreate them. As far as I know, there
are other bobas out there but there are none that will have the same taste and
texture.

The way that you described in detail each area of your business in regards to its affect on the business and the unfair advantage you will have over competitors was in great detail and I was able to see your business concept and goals.

I was wondering if you already have a recipe for your boba and have planned on all the flavors already. I would love to know more about that.
